Did Anyone Get That License Plate Number?

Can I just say that right now, I am not happy.
.
I'm in a bit of a snit actually.
.
I feel like I've been broadsided by a big ole truck that I didn't see coming and I'm struggling to peel myself off of the pavement. For some reason, my world became a very scary place overnight. I went from being in the driver's seat to clinging for dear life to the back bumper. I know that soon, I will gradually crawl back up over the car and regain control of the wheel (preferably Chuck Norris style).
.
Everything around me carries on as normal. I'm doing my best and praying that God will take care of the rest. I'm so thankful that even when I cry out to Him and don't have the right words to say, He already knows what is going on and He is right here beside me.
.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Score - Life 157 Me 0

So, this week didn't go so well.
.
At all, really.
.
Felt ill, went to doctor, got some medicine, slept a lot, felt ill, went to emergency room, got lots of tests, got new medicine and now I feel a bit better. It's going to be something I'll be dealing with for awhile and its no fun, so prayers would be much appreciated. Who knew panic attacks have very little to do with actually being nervous about anything? It's like someone flipped the override switch on the adrenaline factory which is scary and exhausting - like a being roller coaster that you can't get off.
.
In the middle of all of the drama and pharmaceuticals, I got to go see Chonda Pierce!!!! At long last!!! I've been waiting since February! She is so much fun and very, very real about her struggles with depression and an extremely difficult childhood. As my mom said, "She makes you laugh and cry all at once." We had a group of about 30 women attending the concert, which made it even more fun. It was an excellent girl's night out and much needed.
.
Hope everyone had a better weekend than I did! God is bigger than anything any of us are facing and I know He's got this under control!

A Jonah Day

One of my favorite series of books is Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. Anne's personality just leaps off of the pages, so much so that I've absorbed some of her vocabulary into my own. Anne has a special name for a day in which nothing goes right - a Jonah Day.
.
Today was most definitely a Jonah Day.
.
Yesterday, I was informed by a friend that a very nasty stomach bug is circulating throughout our local school district. Last night, I was given irrefutable evidence collaborating that information. My daughter had a very looooooong night and so did I. Running on empty, I went to work, knowing she was in good hands, but feeling guilty anyway. I spent my day in a sleep deprived fog, which was very counterproductive to the tasks at hand.
.
It was one of those days where you keep trying to do the right thing, but the wrong thing prevails. It was most assuredly a Jonah Day.

Germaphobia. It's not just a hobby anymore!

Last week, my son got spectacularly sick. High fever, vomiting, headache, general misery, he had all of the bases covered. The illness went on for four days, while I worried myself silly. Thus the Faith vs. Worry post. I was so thankful when he felt better and went back to school on Friday, and spent the weekend feeling great. Yesterday, in the afternoon, I got a call from the school notifying me that he was sick - again. As I type this, he is still sick, just as sick as he was last week. And I am again worrying myself silly. Why is that?
.
Apart from doing my part to give the hand sanitizer companies the best financial year ever, I've got to admit I'm having a really hard time with this. I spent the weekend breathing a sigh of relief that no one else in the family had gotten sick and had hoped that we were in the clear. Reality hit with a vengeance when the second wave took hold.
.
I'll try to get back here soon!

Summer Colds = Yuck

I guess it is still late spring, but I'm now the proud owner of a summer cold. All the fun of a regular old fall or winter cold, but without the added benefit of being able to curl up under a warm blanket and sleep it away. Fortunately for me, yesterday was rainy and dreary and I was able to spend some quality time with a hot cup of tea and a warm blanket. Not to mention the two or three two or three hour naps I took. Nothing like waking up just in time to go to bed, right?
Today seems a bit better, I just don't dare travel too far without my tissues yet. I have too much to do today to be sick.

Overwhelmed

I am utterly, completely and totally overwhelmed.
.
.
I'm beat. I'm whipped. I want to curl up somewhere and hide. A magic wand would be super right about now.
.
.
The last few weeks have been so busy (and fun), but I'm paying for that right now. My laundry is staging a coup. My sewing is neglected. My seedlings need re-potted. The dishes have not jumped into the dishwasher (How pathetic is that, anyway? I have a dishwasher and my dishes are STILL dirty). The garden needs work. If that wasn't enough, my computer at work is ready to give up the ghost and launched a week's worth of my work off into the void. Overwhelmed doesn't feel good. Common sense tells me to take things one at a time and work my way through, but panic tells me to RUN! FAST! IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! Common sense is going to win the argument, of course, but panic is screaming pretty loudly right now.
